Hi Everybody

My name is Nigel and I've been an active participant in the BYAP forum for the last 8+ months and given the interests I have there it made sense to sign up here as well.

My interests are growing and using fresh produce, aquaponics, and charcuterie (preserving meats). I make my own bacon, silverside and pastrami regularly, have a small citrus orchard, and will soon begin growing my own fish.

One area I want to focus on is closing the loop on feeding our livestock and try and eliminate buying expensive stock feed. I have a biopod up and running producing good amounts of Black Soldier Fly larvae and am intending to get worm, snail, and duckweed production systems up and running in the next few months.

I'm sure Joel will turn the avatar and other detail functionality on soon, but in the meantime, I live in Perth, Western Australia, in the hills region.

Cheers

Hey Chilli dude, good to see you here..

I think I have now enabled avatars, and there should now be a custom field for "where are you from?" let me know if there's anything else you think of.

No, they came from the Waldecks in the Swan Valley on Gt Northern Hwy but that was 2 years ago so have no idea whether they're still carrying them or not.

Just re-read your intro and would love to hear about charcuterie. Would you start a thread about pastrami, etc?
