Hi from South West

We live South of Perth on a five acre bush block. The block is only part cleared for house, shed, a good sized garden and small horse paddock. Bush is Peppy trees, tuart, jarrah and banksia with understory of native shrubs and wildflowers including spider orchids and donkey orchids.
Our backyard farming consists of some fruit trees (2 olives, 2 mullberry, 1 apple, 2 limes and 1 lemon) 1 rockmelon planted under lemon and lime trees to share the grey water, a bath tub worm farm, 1 bee hive and a 3 bed Aquaponic set up. Have a chook yard but no chooks at this point. We help care for our neighbours chooks and he provides us with eggs.
The ormnamental garden around the house is mainly natives, lots of grevillias and bottlebrush, geraniums, lavender and rosemary. Two fish ponds with water iris and lilies. One with seven goldfish other with little native minnows and frogs.

Nigel, Not picked any olives, the birds have them and I'm the only one that eats them. We just like the trees.

LV, The bees are ordinary honey bees.

EB, Have not harvest any honey the last couple of years. Two years ago there was no nectar around even with all the native plants in our garden, last year we had an infestation of moths and they died out. In October we got a new swarm from our local Beeman and are due to check them this month. We are still eating honey from three years ago.
