Hi Everyone,

I've been container gardening on my roof for about 10ish months now. I also have an aquaponics system up there, which is what initially got me hooked to the whole grow your own produce bandwagon.

I'm growing tomatoes, mint, coriander, thai and sweet basil, red cabbages, chillis, capsicums, oregano, iceberg lettuce, strawberries, sponge gourd, long melons and various flowers growing in the house.

I like using only organic stuff for my plants, its a little more work but if done properly I think it yields much better results, both short term and long term.

For now I'm just using clay pots but am about to start experimenting with earthbox style self watering containers and vertical growing in PVC towers.

People on the Backyard Aquaponics forum told me about this forum, and I see a number of familiar faces here.

I'm quite excited about learning from you guys and sharing my own experiences. I'll start up a thread with my plants on it in just a little bit.

Hey Abdul, great to see you here....

Yeah, this forum is pretty much an extension of the BYAP, it's just that the BYAP forum is already getting pretty big, so it seemed easier to have a separate forum for the dirt growing.
