Laboratory Skills. My background is in horticulture, but have always liked science. I did a few short courses last year when my husband was recovering from cancer (it helped keep me sane!), now I've caught the study bug :)

Good on ya! good to keep the brain ticking and helps when you have to look after someone who is sick. It is very draining and helps to have an escape. I do remember reading your post about your husband not being well and a good recovery I believe.
 to all of you.

I was sleeping - thought I heard the radio come on, hit the shower got dressed, got into the car and as I started driving, noticed that the clock said 4:45am. Thought, "Bugger - car clock is playing up".

However, once I got onto the highway and noticed there were no other cars I checked the time on my phone - "Bugger, bugger, bugger".

So now it's around 5:30am and I'm already at work :bash: :bash: :bash:

Oh Dude
Great being on the road without all the idiots, isnt it?
Maybe you will be able to start early and go home early :thumb:
I reckon flexi hours would be great for office workers. Id be in at 3am and out at 10am. Youd get heaps of work done if you didnt have your mates there to distract you.
Have a good day anyway  Im going car hunting. YAY! Just when I think I research the one I want, I see something else

Usual starting time is 0700 or an afternoon start of 1500. Alarm set for 0530 for morning shift.
Hate working in afternoon but certainly nice to get sleep in.
Cars!! What to get?? I have looked at Mazda 2 Mazda 3 and have looked at Hyundais today. They have all the fruit and cheaper. I know that they are meant to be inferior but took a i30 1.6 and 2.0 out for run. Good zip and can do trade in and get next model up SLX for $20000 all up!

The wagons look great. They have heaps of room. Just a bit too big for me. I like Hyundais
5yr/unlimited km warranty also. 3yrs for new cars isnt long enough as it all goes bad after that time

I took out an extended warranty (3 extra years) when I bought my new Subaru Forester, thinking it would be a good idea. However, even though I do low mileage I'm stuck with putting it in for service every six months ($200 minimum) or void the warranty. I'm thinking it might be worth just ignoring the warranty and saving what I can from a bad decision. I don't recommend extended warranties for new cars if you're not doing high mileage.

Yes GS I refuse to pay for extended waranties on any product. I figured as Hyundai have a five year warranty on all their vehicles, I would get rid of it after 5yrs. I crank up the km at the moment so unlimited km is also good for me. If you buy anything expensive from Harvey Norman they always push you to buy the extended warranty and hate it when you say no thanks . They actually come right down in price to get you to buy it. I was offered an extended warranty on a $2500 plasma for $500. What?? I said no thanks. If it dies in 3yrs it will be out of date anyway. They hounded me to buy it and in the end it got down to $30 for 5yr extended warranty. I took it to save the bloke from crying!!

What a kind-hearted soul you are. $30 down from $500 is amazing. At least you don't have to front up with the TV every six months to spend another $200 like I do with my car.

Yes it seems rough if you dont use your car much to have it serviced every 6months. I was getting my Astra serviced every 6month and it cost me on average $450. I think major rip off!!

I was in the car industry and there is big commission in extended warranty and so for Harvey Norman, I ask them do I need it, if they answer not really then that stops the sales pitch, if they answer yes then I say I will go and find something else that is more reliable, generally the response after that is "the products fine we have to push the warranty" still end of sales pitch,
SM if you're in the small car market look at the Mitsy Lancer, 10 year power train and 5 year other warranty, I never liked Mitsubishi's as I had a lemon Magna in the early 80's but I worked and a Ford, Nissan and Mitsy dealer and they have improved a lot, not much parts sales for them other than filters and other service items, they must be confident with a 10 year warranty on the engine a drive train, also Nissan Tida's looked great for the price both have heaps of extra's, me I am strictly a Ford Man, the focus is excellent but pricey and they have indicators and wipers on opposite sides to what we are use to which annoys me, I like a 6cyl at least and wagon so my next will be a Territory but the wagon will last a few more years
