It's pretty likely that if you're on this site you've probably dreamed of a tree-change (if you're in the CBD)....

I'm completely fed up with the rat race and would love to try my hand at becoming a free range egg producer as well as dabbling in free range pigs, and ducks for butchering... I'm just too scared to leave the security of my job and give it a go....

Just curious if anyone on here done this and can offer advice or provide a recount of their experience. I know it's not likely to be rainbows and sunshine all the time, but I'm just not sure where to start in terms of developing a business plan and taking the plunge...

Anyone have some life experiences to share?

Start with
Where Location
Water
Infrastructure
Experience
How much Money
How much Debt
What product
Whos your market
Whats your inputs.
Whats your profit

or you could do a permaculture course have a think and work out whether lifestyle and less money and a sustainable closed loop is more your cup of tea, than getting in debt and chasing your tail to make money to try and make yourself happy by buying stuff you dont really need.

You can also check out www.score.org for business related information. I've just recently found the site and have already found it useful for developing my business plan. You should do lots of planning before you take the plunge. I'm almost to that point myself because I really want to open a retail shop selling aquaponics related products and services. I'm just not where I need to be financially yet. maybe in another year......

Hi Antisense.

As Burnsy has eluded to I've made a tree change. I don't get much time to post at the moment about it as I'm busy working as well as organizing building a house.

My other half and our son have taken to the change well. None of us want to go back to the city. We can tolerate it for a few days but are always glad to be home.
