Sounds like a common thing but I've seen people that get a new plant and never give away cuttings or share seeds. And I've never understood why they do this. Mainly its members of garden clubs and there is a bit of competition between people. Now that we have online shops the idea of places never seeing new plants is hopefully a thing of the past. I'm part of the group that shares even if they don't want it.

I love swapping seeds, plants and cuttings, partly as you say, because you then have a source if yours fail, but mainly because I get them from others in return. Consequently, my garden is full of plants I call by the name of the person who gave them to me. It's a 'friendship' garden really. |

Yep, the only way to do it.... I was sending tubers and seeds all over the place a few years back. In fact someone wrote to me just a couple of days ago, they had found a 5 year old post I had made on the permie forum offering yacon tubers and were asking if I still had some. I pointed them to this forum, and links to where they can be bought coz I've run out.... |
