I know they reccomend spring to take cuttings from Yuccas for propagating but does anyone know if it can it be done now? (In Perth.) |

Yucca Softwood cutting from late spring to summer Bud cutting in early spring Division in late winter and in early spring Seeds in spring Or at least thats what the book said. Might be okay if your growing inside over the colder months. |

If you are talking about these things they are almost like alien creatures, any little bit will take root. I have been chopping and burning these things for three years now and still get volunteers come back. I have burned them where all the leaves burned off the stalk and all was left was chared pieces and they took root and sprouted. I wouldn't worry about cuttings not taking just how to get rid of them when they take over. I believe they make great security plantings. Those pretty blooms only last about two weeks a year other than that you should keep up your tetnus shots, they are wicked to mow around! |
