My neighbor wanted an old tank moved from the farm down the valley to his block to expand his veg patch. He asked me if I could give him a hand and use his trailer but my ute as it was right on top of one of the highest hill in the area and his car wouldn't make it up.

I though that a tank for a garden bed couldn't be more that 2m diameter right? Wrong!

Also we chose a day with 40+ Km/h easterly winds :scared2:

Well technically it did fit in the trailer, and if you are wondering that blue rope is that cheap stuff that is filled with tissue paper that looks like absiling rope but has a breaking strain of about 50kg :crazy:

We made it down the hill OK but turning north the wind caught the hollow of the tank and the trailer began to travel on a 30 degree angle. While this did reduce the wear on the now airborne right tyre it was not as healthy for the trailer hitch so we pulled under a tree so the tank was suppoted by a branch and reassessed our supidity. :blackeye:

A bit of extra weight was all that was needed for a very slow nervous limp home.

Yeah it was just 40km/h for 2 km down a dead end country road, not much chance of other vehicle interaction, was more worried about over head powerlines :lol:

Brings back memories if moving my 5000 litre tank from Jandakot to Ellenbrook.

Not as big as that one but still tricky to move when using a 6x4 trailer.

Wish I had taken photos now.

Well done on getting it relocated in one piece.
