The Cannington Exhibition Centre on the corner of Stations St & Albany Highway in Cannington, Western Australia will be holding this years Garden Clubs and Societies Fair. Around 3o specialist societies will be showcasing a diverse variety of plants from rare palms, cycads and ferns to herbs, hibiscus, frangipanis, begonias, daylilies, african violets, orchids,, salvias, bonsai, cactus, succulents, geraniums, fuschias, gerberas,bulbs, roses and hoyas. The specialists from these groups are a wealth of knowledge and talks will be ongoing throughout the two day event. Doors are open from 9am-4pm. If you want to grab a bargain come down and say hello. Backyard Aquaponics will have a small display selling heritage seeds, magazines and talking aquponics. I will be giving a brief talk about "growing fish and vegetables in your own backyard" at 2.30pm Sunday. |

Went and visited Faye today at the Societies Fair, things were moving nicely, lots of interested people wandering around.. Lat day today and not long to go... |

They had all sorts of interesting stuff there. The hibiscus, frangipani, orchid, etc displays, just didn't float my boat. But there was a herb guy there with all sorts of interesting things. He had curry trees which I've found hard to find, and also caper bushes, I've never seen caper bushes for sale before.. He sells wholesale to nurseries so I might need to have a look into his whole range. |
