Hey guys! I know it it a stretch from garden to indoor Garden Patch, anyway... Since I am still in university and there are not too many possibilities to garden here (except you buy a plot in town or use an allotment, but they have crazy regulations, like no more than 5% veggies, why for heavens sake?) so I got my hands dirty a got a indoor grow area which I build myself. ![]() ![]() ![]() I know it is no much, but I am building a bigger one. Just some data on the glasshouse: 60 cm x 40 cm x 65 cm The grow area is 58 cm by 38 cm It is 19 cm deep. I painted it white as it can reflect sunlight better. I use a layer of Hydroton at the bottom and normal garden center soil. I do use earthworms (there reproduce like hell!) in it and effective microbes. There are 6 date palms var. Fardh inside and a little basil (in a pot from a supermarket, sorry). I will use it as a spice lot. So I seeded 15 cm of rosemary, 10 cm basil, 15 cm of parsley, 10 cm of mint and a blob of lavender. There will be some salad seeded in a day or two. And I got a University owned raised bed of one(!) square meter. |

Thanks guys, glad you like it. I like to integrate aquaponics in it as well :-) But I am working on that. Well I just found out why they have this 5% restriction on the allotments. It seems there (users) are not allowed to use it as a kind of cottage garden (a working veggie patch) since there are only for recreational use. As if gardening is not recreational. If I would just change the federal state, going back home :-) I would be even allowed to have chicken or ducks. I thing it is more a community restriction. As those rules are not made by the government there mus be a way to change them. @Charlie; I presume you are the same Charlie as in die AP forum, so I hope you like the way I resized the pictures :-) |
