We have just planted three mango trees into three big limestnoe planter boxes at school within our open courtyard area and are looking for something that will grow like a weed to put under it that will stand kids constantly picking at it. Mint came to mind and I thought that three different types of mint (one in each) would be a great addition to the kitchen garden. Can anyone recommend some different types of mint that they like, why they like it and what they use it for to help me choose which three I should plant? Thanks, Burnsy |

iv got 2 types of mint growing, Mint Basil - Great hardy plant, loves a haircut, grows well and its just awesome in Spaghettis, salads and most cooking... Choc Mint - Same style plant, used for deserts more as it has a choc kind of flavour too it... kids love picking at it cos it smells so good. |

Vietnamese mint has a peppery taste and is great as a spice in Vietnamese rice paper rolls. |

I would be carefull putting mint in there the roots are so invaseife[bad]the will end up choking the tree and use all the goodness |

If the soil is moist apple mint will be lovely. |

Try cat mint gets rid of mozzies and rats and mice and attracts bees |

I got lazy and grabbed the first six pots of mint I came across. Peppermint, spearmint and chocolate mint (as we already have mongeral grandma mint growing elsewhere). Seeing they are under mangoes I think we might call them the icecream beds as all go well with icecream
