Have just returned from Tass1. He has a few Moringa trees in stock.
We grabbed one and also a icecream bean.

It is interestin there isn't it! We also bought a drumstick tree recently, and the Ice Cream Bean. The drumstick is a pretty amazing tree! We have been eating the leaves in salads quite often- they are very tasty. |

I picked up a icecream bean tree at the BYAP shop the other day too, can wait until it starts producing  I will have to get a Moringa too! |

I just got some seeds cant wait to get it going Supposed to be good for everything high protein leaves might be good for aquaponics too. Supposed to make a good bio diesel too might be part of the answer post peak oil. not as a global solution but as a personal local one. |

I was a bit worried when my new Moringa had all the leaves go yellow and start to fall off. I cut all the remaining leaves and the top 150mm off. It has now sprouted new leaves and the top bit has new leaves on it as well. I put the cut off bit into a AP growbed so hopefully it will develop roots and become a new tree.  I think the problem was the root system in the pot had not developed enough but all seems good now. Cheers Dennis |

Apparently they don't like being transplanted They say its best to sow them where you want them. They apparently grow well from cuttings,not sure if they are AP type trees they don't like wet roots The beauty of them appears to be they will grow in marginal soil with minimal water,but dont mind a little bit of TLC. |

It does seem to be recovering well and the piece in the AP will not stay there. I am just seeing if it will form roots and then transplant it. |

Ours also went yellow after it was planted but is all green now with lots of new growth- sufficient to be cropping and eating! |

Ma gave me 8 moringa seeds that she brought back from her trip to Mali. Hope to plant them sometime soon. Any tips? |
