Just wondering what other people do with their Rosemary ? It's one of the few things that grows here without getting any love whatsoever, and as you can see it's doing pretty well despite not having been given any water and no rain for over 60 days. Almost anything I'm roasting gets rosemary tucked in around it, and I usually throw some on the back part of the BBQ as it always smells great and imparts a bit of flavour to whatever's cookin' when the hood is down.

That is one of the many advantages of living in the West Rosemary grows everywhere (almost) I use a lot in our webber. Lots on the lamb roast, Lots under the lamb roast and a couple of handfulls to go over the coals to smoke the whole shebang Cheers Dennis |

You can neglect rosemary to the point where it doesn't have much flavour in it's dried shriveled leaves..... When it's in a half barrel way up the back corner of the yard where it never gets any water. |

Was it still alive Joel, or was this another learning experience like you had with the kaffir lime ? |

I figure it's "just" alive. Though I haven't looked in a couple of weeks. Damn good spot to put a pomegranate, move the rosemary to within sprinkler drop. |

I love using rosemary on roasts etc also (a garlic and rosemary marinated leg of lamb in the webber - yummo). My Rosemary plant of 7 years died a few weeks ago. Can only put it down to all the rain we had here over Xmas. Spewing, will need to buy another :-( |

Heh VB, Just find another plant and take some cuttings. We did about 130 cuttings and only 4 or so did not strike. Some we stripped the lower leaves off and stuck them into toilet roll holders filled with potting mix. Others I put in leaves and all. They were well watered and did beautifully. A week or so ago I had a bit of Rosemary left over from the roast and just pulled the leaves from the lower 50mm and stuck it into the grow bed. I think it is going to take as well Dennis |

I know that rosemary is meant to be easy to strike, but I've never had much luck for some reason. I did however just earlier email my mum to get her to bring over some cuttings next time I see the olds. How long does it normally take to root? |

I found that the roots formed quickly (must have been within a week as the remaining leaves showed no sign of drying out) and when we planted out I just put the dunny roll holder and all in. Cheers Dennis |
