We have had King skinks living in a rockery near a pond for years...they also get into the roof cavity and slither along in there, giving visitors a bit of a fright!! We give them a little bit of the perch fish food every morning.

We have seen them have a bit of a fight, so thought there were only one or two...but this morning saw five at once! They all ate and moved around quite happily together too!

Roe deer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roe_deerAs I am not sure you have them in Australia just a bit from wikipedia. I tastest ver good with some red wine :-)

Wild boar, I think you have a differend spieces of those in Australia, the European ones are quite nice and taste very good!

We have never bothered with a front lawn due to rainwater limitations, rabbits & roos. But we recently set up a pump on our dam & dug up established lawn from the backyard where my shadehouse is going & laid it out the front with no great expectations. Well the rabbits must be in hibernation & the roos aren't too interested either, so it is only getting the occasional trim & is now growing well.
It is lovely to open the curtains & watch the wildlife.

Nice big praying mantis, haven't seen one in a while, probably because they are so well camouflaged.ImageImage
