Part of our plan, for our 10 acres, is to provide a sanctuary for wildlife. We are pleased that a few varieties have become well established in recent years (we only saw them now and then previously).

Looooooooove the wren.... You hardly ever see them up this way but see them all the time down Denmark way, my brother has them trained so they will come in land on your hand and eat from your palm. Attachment: DSC_0648 (Medium).JPG [ 61.75 KiB | Viewed 25911 times ] |

Wow, that is a great photo! They are so lovely, but do move around quickly so hard to get a good picture...but that one is fantastic! |

This skink fell or dropped into the wheat bin, and made a great photo opportunity before we released it (and replaced the lids on the feed bins!)

Gee that skink must have got a fright, do they even eat wheat? Here is a bearded dragon if I were to give it a caption it would be along the lines of "I hope you captured my good side"? Faye, great photos! We have had a few dragons lately but my camera is just not up to taking such good close-ups! Not sure that skinks eat wheat...they do LOVE the fish food though! Bushy, we do try hard to attract wildlife. We have planted and planted lots of natives, leave a selection of fallen logs, bought logs with holes/cavities in them and probably one of the main things is we don't allow the dogs to roam everywhere. We have designated a few 'sanctuaries', throughout the 10 acres and these are no-go areas for the dogs. Since doing that we have seen a lot more wildlife. |

I'm an Arachniphile so spiders are always welcome in my garden, this one is of the orb weaver family, it is the fat cream colourd blob sitting on 5 egg sacks Attachment: Photo0423.jpg [ 39.88 KiB | Viewed 25609 times ] And a few days later 7 egg sacks Attachment: Photo0459.jpg [ 41.7 KiB | Viewed 25609 times ] And another orb weaver in the veg patch, a bit hard to see clearly (phone camera) Attachment: Photo0432.jpg [ 46.34 KiB | Viewed 25609 times ] |

Lovely photos! We have been seeing a lot of bearded dragons, but the camera doesn't take good close ups. Here are a couple though.... Attachment: bearded dragon.jpg [ 187.18 KiB | Viewed 25594 times ] it 'played dead' the whole time, even when trying to move it out of the garden (and away from the three dogs!!). Attachment: bearded dragon 2.jpg [ 147.9 KiB | Viewed 25594 times ] Not a clear photo but still amazing! |
