I got a Panama Red its chockers at the moment have been eating passionfruit for the last month

My mum used to have a very unusual Passionfruit with large heart shape leaves and huge fruit.. I must find out that it was.

Ive got Giant Granadilla seeds. Largest passionfruit but a bugger to germinate.

Hope everyone is getting out a paint brush for all the flowers. Brush the underside of the yellow pads on the flower first. Then give the top parts of the flower a brush. Helps give you a better fruit set. You can also cross-pollinate different types to give you a different tasting fruit.

Panama Red do phenomenal here in Perth - my 3 year old one I've had hundreds of fruit from this year. Feed it on aged quail poo - stinks to high heaven but the passionfruit loves it. From what I remember Panama Red is summer bearing (if you prune it back in August) or Winter bearing if you prune it back later in December or don't prune at all. I've trimmed half it back this year (so about a good 8m of growth) and I'll see if that half fruits in Summer, and the rest fruits again next Winter. Never had to help it along when it came to pollination.

Mine aren't grafted (Dawson's sells non grafted) so have no problems with suckers. Also have a black passionfruit that I planted last year - got about 10 fruit from that this year.
