Give the plant a dose of potassium may help it flower. Passionfruit grown from seed will take extra time before it produces fruit.

Bannana passion fruit are great.. Very tough, the fruit isn't quite as nice, tastes quite different, but very productive and chooks love them.

we had trouble with the Nelly Kelly being on a root stock. Unbeknown to us, the root stock had been shooting out under the neighbors fence. They werent very happy

My non-grafted is a bannana. Had a vine once before. Fruit were great.

The fruit that is currently on belong to that plant (not the grafted one) and one of them is dead set about 10cm long

yum. We used to freeze the pulp when we had too many fruit come in at once.

Havent been able to logon to the site from home, but ok from this work computer.
Lets me log in and says login was successful but immediately logs me our so I cant post.

Love passionfruit so it was annoying to have all this fruit on the vine last winter that didnt ripen.

Oldute, we seem to have the same problem. login and it goes straight back to the login page, but if we have a look at the site with the other computer the site shows that we are logged in.

We thought that perhaps my computer was having videocard problems, but maybe not.

Could it perhaps be that your browser software doesn't have cookies enabled?

Had similar issue with IE, now use Fire Fox on all PC's, so try FF if you aren't using, new version out last week is excellent

Here's the rootstock plant of a passionfruit which has over taken a large conifer here at work:

I have only ever seen two fruit on the vine and the fruit are rather uninspiring, very small yellow/orange fruit with a soft skin.



The inside fruit pulp is a very deep red colour. tastes a little like passionfruit, but not very nice.. And like I said, it's only the second fruit I have ever seen, even though it has many flowers.

I wouldn't agree with that observation Duff. More likely that the stuff growning from below the graft would be using all the plant's energy meaning that the stuff above will perform in an inferior manner. In fact, what happen to some people with grafted fruit trees is that they have unknowingly killed the bit that has been grafted on and end up with a tree that has just grown from the rootstock. Then they wonder why they are not getting fruit or are getting a weird knarled fruit.

You may be right. I haven't kept the shoots on rootstock growing on any of my vines. Guess they could put the energy into growing more vine. I do like the look of the fruit tho.

I put potassium around my passion fruit early in February to try and trick it into flowering with no success.
It has just started flowering now.
Its earlier than last year at least so I hope I might get some fruit of it.
Does anyone else in Perth have their passion-fruit flowering this time of year with success?
Its been in for 3 years, flowered first time last year at the start of winter with no successful fruit.
Was thinking about pulling it out if I don't get any fruit this time or should I persevere?
