I was wandering the local fruit and veg store yesterday with Mitch and we stopped and looked at some green plums, they looked a bit strange and the sign said "best eating". Yeah right I though....
One of the old guys that works there came over and said "here try." He ripped one open and handed us half each. Now it's strange to see a plum thats, green, it's even stranger that you can just rip it in half without it squelching into a mush of juice, surely it can;t be ripe... But no it tasted great...

The fruit are huge and heart shaped, they are a very firm meaty plum, yet very sweet with a slightly tart skin.
The seed inside is extremely small, and has a small hollow cavity at the base of the seed, but small seed means that you get a lot of flesh, and because the flesh is quite meaty it's filling to eat them.

Anyway, I'm convinced, I've already been back to the shop this morning and bought a bag full, and I've been searching for suppliers of the trees, seems that they might be available locally here in perth at tas1trees.
Here's a pic I found online. You can see that it's an easy thing to walk past if you didn;t know about them, they don't look bright and colourful like other plums, but if you see them, give them a try...
