Anyone have any? I'm thinking of buying but would be interested to hear a bit more about how they do in different climates and how long they take to fruit. |

I've never had one myself, a mate did though from memory they take about 7 years to mature and fruit. I like the way the fruit grows on these trees. |

I've had mine in for 6 months. Don't think it likes the area and is slow on the growing. Was just going to forget about it and in 10years try and work out what it is and why is there fruit on the trunk. |

No, haven't got one. Have always been fascinated by them and would love to try the fruit, but they grow into a pretty big tree and I don't want one that big. |

Before spring I'm going to mix up a tonic for all the fruit trees. A lot of the slower growing trees need a little push. |

If you get the right climate they grow very well, there are a few diff sorts but generally theyre about 3m high. Very thick foliage and respond well to hedging, a shrub rather than a tree. They like hot humid sub tropical, no frost. The fruit is a bit like a grape, squish the innards inside you're mouth and spit the seeds and skin, ok but a bit a underwhelming. The fruit doesnt keep well and doesnt cook well for stewing or jams. Another tree that is interesting is the grummichama, not sure of spelling, but from the Amazon, nice shiny leaves and a cherry like fruit that tastes like nothing else, I have to eat them as I pick |
