I have two Pepino plants growing in pots from seed and I will plant in the ground as soon as it cools down and wets up a bit. I don't know much about them other than what is in the intraweb. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solanum_muricatum But apparently they grow well enough in WA to support an industry but i have never seen them for sale. Any one have any luck with them and have any tips?

Hey Simo - thanks - I never got around to looking it up to find out what it was. Big fruit ! I haven't got them, but DBIRD on the AP forum is growing them down in Narrogin (in his AP setup). |

I've grown them at my old house, never knew they could be trellised. I quite like the taste of the fruit never got mine to last more than one season though. |

we are into our 3rd season with our fruit. Didnt know that they could be trellised either. Look much better. They are kind of like a cross between a rockmellon and a honeydew. |

Nice I have two plants that I'm about to put in the ground... I hope that they aren't prone to fruit fly, my sapote fruit have been massacred by fruit fly. |

Ordered a couple of plants. Could not find any seeds. They look like a nice plant for AP. Just keep striking the off shoots. |

Comparison of growth.... Mine have started to take off in the raised beds. |

I put one in the ground, and then got lazy and just pushed the other pot into a grow bed. Both plants are doing well. The AP one is growing faster with a lot of new leaves etc. Will transplant it properly in the next couple of days. |

My pepino have not grown much since transplanting into the dirt but they have bushed up and one now has flowers so maybe some fruit soon. The growth rate tells me they might not like my soil or climate, but we will see.

mine have gone crazy out the front, only a couple of very small fruit though... I know I know, photos, but it's dark now.... |
