What a strange looking fruit! I am not familiar with them at all. Do you know it's botanical name or another common name?

Not sure what the botanical name is but any Queenslander will be familiar with them. They grow well in the tropics.

I have had one in the ground for about 8 years.Im in central Qld Coastal
I still haven't had any fruit. Its not irrigated survives purely of rain fall and rarely fertilised. It takes a few years to fruit so I am not overly concerned yet.
I just don't have enough water to really care for it like it would want and I wanted it to get tough and send out deep roots to survive.
Will give it a bit more TLC when I hook up the grey water system.

Cillidude, ur pretty spot on there, they are in the custard apple family.... but like it a bit more tropical.
One of my fave fruits to eat.
They like shelter, good soil and water and drainage.
