| Post subject: | Pecan nuts |
After many many years, our pecan nut tree finally has some nuts. It has produced the massive amount of 3 nuts.  What i would like to know is when would the nut be right to crack and eat? Not sure. We used to pick them up off the ground. Husk was dried out by then. |

Best to let them dry for a few weeks. |

Pecans fall from the tree by themselves in the Fall. If they don't come out of the green skin, there is usually a worm inside or they are rotten. You can shake them from the tree limbs after the green skin has died and turned brown. |
