The scourge of my Cucurbitaceae. Unfortunately due to pot style (self-watering/wicking) my cucumber, squash and zucchini are all in fairly moist environments permanently. I have lost my zucchini and my squash and cucumber aren't particularly happy though they are plodding along. Does anyone have any proven remedies for knocking back or killing powdery mildew? Currently trialing a light dilution of vinegar after using a 1-3 hydrogen peroxide and water that wasn't effective. My cucumbers taste so good, I want to eat them, not feed it to powdery mildew. Thanks. Mitch |

Full cream milk 1 part to 9 parts water spray over affected leaves. Alternative treatment is Ecorose or Ecofungicide- it has the added benefit of promoting flowering and fruiting. It is potassium bicarbonate- certified organic- food grade- I think it is used as a preservative in cordial if you make your own. |
