Wasn't an Opossum this time although I killed two in the last 12 months killing chickens. This is the guilty party this time. These guys are protected though I think. anyway they are really good at eating rats so I'll just take the lump on this one and hope he doesn't come back and terrorize the caged animals.

American Opossums are definitely not vegitarians but are mostly scavengers. They will kill poultry though.

Well, 2 roosters to 10 hens was really hard on the hens. the fact that they are bald headed and kinda bare backed was bad but I got home today and one of the girls had her comb bloodied. So I took the two roosters and put them in cages but they started to beat themselves up against the wire. So I put one down and returned the other to the hens. I'm still going to get him a seperate pen to give the hens a reprieve. I wish I could let them roam but the other critters would get them.
