On Saturday 17 April Narrogin Poultry Club will have an auction at the poultry shed next to the oval on May St. If you are looking for some chooks this could be the place to be. There is normally a good choice of bantam breeds (especially Pekins) and the drum is that there will be a good number of Light Sussex being offered. All sorts of breeds of chickens, ducks and turkeys are sold. If you are selling be there at 0930hrs, buyers at 1000hrs. Take a pen with you (to write down your bids on the cards) and good luck! |

I have seen Isas and Isa hybrids, other hybrids bred for laying and purebreeds. Mostly purebreeds though. Every auction is different, with lots of surprises! Isas can be kept with other chooks, just keep an eye on them as they can get fixated on setting the pecking order, sometimes until serious injury is caused. If your chooks freerange it isn't so bad as when they are in a coop. |
