| Post subject: | Easter Eggers |
Hi Guy's and Gals Nearly finished my chook pen and have been looking around at the different breeds of chickens to get. I only need around 5-6 but thought I'd go with Easter Eggers if I could possibly get them, I know Isa Browns have a better lay rate as do rhode Islands and leghorns but would get a kick out of chooks that lay coloured eggs. Any Ideas on where to get them would be appreciated. gnash |

As far as I know Easter Eggers are simply Araucana cross chooks that lay coloured eggs. The egg colours are normally paler than the pure bred Araucana |

@ Steve S To get eggs like these you need a different cross: Attachment: nasty easter bunny.jpg [ 4.15 KiB | Viewed 9003 times ] And then: Attachment: easter_bunny_02-2_365615.jpg [ 28.41 KiB | Viewed 9003 times ] |
