i scored 5 new young laying hens today for 5 bucks each. they are young, but two have laid eggs.
cross of buff orps. and RR's one is a barred rock buff cross. layers go for about $8-12 each an 8's are rare.
the guy tossed in a young rooster for free. he had a good back yard full of chooks.scratch grains have risen sharply here in the last few weeks. me thinks folks are going to be trimming off their flocks as it climbs.
