A mate has these growing in his yard and they look great. Like a banana without the fruit. But they grow tall and would make a great shade tree and for mulch. I'm just sick of waiting for them to seed so I can plant some. Any one have seeds or know where to get them from.

I had the hardest time trying to work out the spelling via google. Then I found the cats and was going to give up and added banana and wam. Spelt the same. Its a banana tree that does not bare fruit but does flower. They grow fast and end up pretty big.

I don't know this plant, but if they're related to bananas they will send up suckers each year, won't they? The shoots are supposed to be thinned to one per plant so there's your opportunity.
