It was great EB.....gave the veggies a good soaking after the urea and the blood and bone I threw around.

Managed to partly fix the old reel mower dad gave me today, turns out it was just clutch problems :thumb: and now have to figure why it only drives/propels itself sometimes, i think the inner bearing is a bit dodgey and the main drive is spinning internally...job for another day I guess.
Also got around to planting out the last of the beetroot, kohlrabi, more corn, cukes and apple cukes, red leg onions and white radish.
Let the girls out for the first time today and they had a blast picking the bugs from my tommies and even ganged up on the cat

This morning was interesting for Bob (our yabbie) as he managed to shed another shell overnight so he basically hid, (you can always tell when they about to shed as they go nuts in the tank loosening up the carpaice) I stirred him up enough to get some shots tho.

Do you put the shell back in for him to eat.

Had a very interesting experience yesterday arvo whilst unloading tires for my spuds. The GF was grabbing them off the ute, walking them to the gate and rolling them down the garden at me.
She walked off to get another and there was a very high pitched sound followed by the hurried sound of thongs hitting dirt (seriousley it was like the drums from a military tattoo)....."SNAKE" was the last thing I heard.

So being the the knight in shiney tinfoil that I am I asked her to get me the shovel, rake and rum :).....gotta steel those nerves

The next half hour was funny to say the least, partly destroyed a plant in an old earthenware sewer pipe before the snake shot out and headed to an even bigger garden.
Totally destroyed the big garden....there is not one plant still standing or one rock in place, (while all this is going on the GF has the hose and is standing back about 5m squirting everything that moves  ) I started to get sick of looking for the bastid so shouted to the GF "go get the petrol for the lawnmower" :hello:
Just as she got to the house the bastid shot out of a hole and was off.......but not quick enough for the rake
So all in all, one plant and one garden bed was wrecked, the rake got bent, no manure went on the spuds..........AND i spilled some of my rum :bash: all for a pissy little snake.

It turns out it was a Banded Brown snake....nasty little critter and going by the site I was checking out it should have around 12-14 siblings getting around the place as well  .

I'll post some pic's this evening

You needed to dig up that garden anyway so you can turn it into a productive garden :thumb:
