Got home this evening and wandered out to the veggie garden for the usual checks and rum  .
Found a number of corn plants and some onions laying over and chewed at the base.
:dunno: but figure it's the yellow bums or the maggies (the yellow bums are the small honey eaters that hang around, but i have seen them take the chook seed)...so time to do some replanting and maybe spend sunday arvo sitting quietly with my camera in the veggie patch to see what is actually happening.

My money is on wabbits, cockys or parrots, never seen a maggie or honey eater chew the bottom of a plant before :|

Rabbits would be easy enough to identify through scratchings and droppings and would usually eat the top off the corn as well so I will back cockies as they like the young roots and kernals left from sprouted corn.

Fair call Guy's, have had a few 28's hang around lately to get the almonds and the odd corella.

Might have to tie the cat up out there for a bit

Haven't had much garden time lately but managed to do some stuff yesterday before the olds arrived for lunch.
BUT have woken this morning to the sound of rain  and it's bucketing down

Everything is still moving along slowly except the corn in the long garden as it has been 95% demolished by parrots......I'm thinking that not to far down the track parrot pie may be in order

The corn in the other bit is still going strong with minimal damage but I need to remove the rest of the veggies as they have gone to seed.
Removed the shade cover from the yard garden as the tomato wasn't setting fruit and I reckon it's due to lack of light, you can also see where i got bored with doing the carrots in lines so threw the whole packet of seeds in and just covered them over

Haven't had much time in the gardens lately, Xmas was huge to say the lest and last week I had a mini break and went back to Kal on the hunt for a new job.....and other things
The gardens, despite the watering have gone to crap but the square one in the yard is still doing alright.
Managed to pickle some beetroot today and have tried the target variety as well as the normal to see how it goes, even pickled some squash to see if it turns out ok.

I also got around to finishing the head stone for Grunt, it's been sitting in my shed since I started and I just never got round to placing it.
Today was that day, I guess I got a bug up my arse and decided enough was enough get your crap together.
