Yes I'm pretty sure the ramps are 35 degrees and the reason for this is the BSF can climb 35 but normal house fly larvae can't unless the surface is wet.

You could make a replica of the biopod if you could weld and bend plastic. Sounds very interesting. Look forward to seeing what u can do

Yes Ben its amazing the things they make at my work I'm just a store man there and if I want to make something I cut it out bend it but I don't weld yet I'm still practicing but the tradies do it for me I will show you later a few things I have done for my ap also if you come up with a design I'm more than happy to show my boss and give you an idea of the cost

Have done some work in the backyard putting in a couple of raised vegy beds. Used limestone blocks I already had which were originally in the front yard. I filled these with mushroom compost and sheep manure. Very happy with the growth so far

Also found a new variety of 'chocolate' broad bean. I think my son will be very disappointed that they are not real chocolate beans as he is so excited about them.

I also have aquadulce and ruby flowered broad beans growing here with garlic

Time for the final update from our Busselton house. Have spend the past week shifting everything (including 2 AP systems) to our new property 60km further south in nannup. We now have 5 acres so will be able to have a massive vege patch, breed chickens and ducks and run a couple of sheep. Did I mention a mega AP system?

Here is the final pick of our Busselton front yard. The seedlings we planted have all grown heaps and I am sad to not see them grow up

It's always hard to leave a house that you've done so much work to, and in some ways even harder to leave a garden, knowing that it will continue to change and delight its owners for many years to come.

But, with a new patch of land like that to work with, you will have a productive paradise up and running in no time! It looks like a big and rewarding project - jealous :-)

Have been busy building a new chicken run at our new place. I cleared an area 15m by 10m. We have lots of planted wattles like Acacia longifolia and Queensland silver wattle and Flinders Range wattle which have become massive thickets so clearing out a hollow in one of these should make a good space for our chickens and provide a bit of a sound buffer.

Here is the space-

The run and coop will be split into 3 bays so we can separate chickens for breeding and grow out pens. We are staging the build into sections and will continue on a funds and time allows. Here are some progress shots-

We have no shortage of rock here so are burying some to 500mm deep for fox proofing. Will see how it goes.

It is so great for the children to be involved- they take some pride and ownership in it but learn some very useful skills along the way too!!! :thumb:

Harvested some sweet potato today. Was stoked with the yield from only two plants. Still have one plant to go which I might try and get some cuttings from for the next crop
