Cheers, It took a while to convince my daughter of the necessity of this course of action, but now she wanders round the yard picking up leaves and grass to add in.

Love it Gaz. So twin barrels, what's the plan? I'm a rookie composter and just started building mine recently so any hints or tips would be appreciated. From my researching I understand mixing the greens with the dry, then whatever the chooks don't eat also go in with any of their poop etc.

I have an ubundance of ground cover down the back of our block made up of leaves, fronds, sticks etc that I want to put to good use during summer as we can't burn off in summer. I've been collecting charcoal from our winter burns then hopefully with the addition of above mentioned I think we should get some really good compost going, do you think I'm on the right track?

Also got to get a bath tub worm farm going

Sounds good to me. I'm only at amateur compost status, but I believe something like lots of brown stuff and a bit of green stuff is the go. Add air and micro organisms and off you go.

The worms are good, but I reckon we would need about 5 can of worms farms to deal with just the kitchen scraps.

This chilli plant is probably the biggest I've ever grown, if I stretch out the branches it's as tall as I am. I think it was a hungarian orange.

They have a little bit more poke than a jalapeno, but only just - I'd take a punt they would be 3000-5000 scovilles

I enjoyed reading your thread. Especially when you grew that little pumpkin ;)

The potato towers are excellent - might try that idea. The bricks double as ambient heat and also easy to harvest. You could try one with a bit of builders plastic down the bottom 1/4 to retain some moisture and compare results.

Not a bad idea jayendra, they do dry out pretty quick. Getting punished by snails at the moment :bat:

Just googled the carrot chili, they look pretty similar, not sure if they are the same though.
