I did a bit of research before I got my chooks found that Australorps or Transylanivan Naked Necks would be the best using the following criteria:

1. Self brood so no need for an incubator
2. Large size for meat production
3. Good layers even in the Australian Heat

I chose the Australorp because they are Australian and the naked necks would probably give the kids nightmares :D
