Been using these for starting seeds and cuttings. Have them in a flood & drain tray. The pots allow for the roots to go deep.

Is that flood and drain tray part of your AP system Duff ?

No, its just a great way of getting the soil wet without disturbing the soil. I'm been thinking of setting up a f&D tray connected to the AP system. I think others have done a similar thing.

Put them in yesterday. One under an arch that I can cover a bit in winter.

Layed out another 40 cardboard boxes and spread out 2 bails over them. Then turned on the AP sprinkler for an hr or so. Gives the area a bacteria kick start and the goodies in the water do improve the soil a lot. Even the sea salt at 2ppt makes the plants go nuts.

Planted the star fruit under a trelis in the chook pen. Its next to a tin fence so that should help with frosts. It gets the sun on the other side of it before the yard gets any light.

The vine is a luffa. I'm still not sure when you dig up yakon. It just seems to keep growing.

Thats the vine from the back fence. Not sure what it is but it grows over anything it can reach. Drops its leaves over winter and has a small berries.

Peas are the purple kind. :joy:
