To add to last months post on Topsy turvey :swear: about 2 weeks ago one broke the main bladder ripped in half, 2 days latter the other 2 the same, bought one for a mate and his did the same, no UV protection in the material, whilst they were good when going, I think now complete rubbish, I got 4 on ebay for $60 posted so not much lost, they are the TT brand, read reviews on a cheaper brand and reviews not that good as they broke on the wires, but the principal of growing tomato's upside down is great, save your money on TT's though

Will bring what we are talking about over to this page, but I think I will try using the hanging bit and put shade cloth in place..maybe, they were ok for growing but then can get same result from AP so maybe not worth the effort :dunno: but no worries EB save you're money

Here's a pic of the 4 month old Topsy turvey's, the plastic on them is very brittle now, just like a Coles Shopping Bag left in the sun for a week or so, as mentioned they all fell apart within a day or so of each other, so life span is definite

Maybe just hang a 20ltr bucket with a few holes cut in the bottom. Would last longer.

Wow digging since 6am, am knackered already, but the weather doesn't seam to be cooling so has to be done sometime, the raised veggie garden that I had to put in a couple of years ago for some reason now has to be unraised :dunno: removing railway sleepers is not a job for when your closer to 50 than 40 :help: removing the dirt when it's 25c with 60% humidity at 7am isn't a job you should do at all :swear: and where is the driving force whilst this is all happening, in :swear: bed :poke:
I did buy her a grow bed for AP so maybe why the veggie garden is going, so technically my fault :bash:
Am planting a raspberry and banana passionfruit also and oh yes mow the lawn, I hope the mower doesn't wake her majesty

Hey thats an interesting idea.... I reckon one of those white fishing buckets, the ones we sell feed in, would make a great upside down planter.. Certainly wouldn't break, they are very tough buckets...

yes joel, just need about 75mm hole down the botton and like the TT's have a bit of sponge over the hole with a slit cut to the centre to hold the plant,

I've got a few of those buckets myself.

What is the advantage of the upside down plant?

Is it that the water travels down to the plant roots instead of away or just that all water is kept in the system therefore more water efficient?

Don't know simo but they work, with tomato's eliminates staking, easier to harvest no broken branches

Bit like drinking a stubby standing on your head, it just has to be tried

Oh - haven't had the urge yet.....

Still do the occasional drinking one while laying on my stomach and then standing up and letting out a belch that shakes the house. Always impresses the local women no end :blackeye:
