I think that DLS finishes here early April. I thought the reason DLS was opposed in WA was that it would fade the curtains with the extra hour of sunlight!!!

wrong tristrin, it was because the cows wouldn't know what the time is
I live 200 k's outta Perth and our district was 98% against, all it did for me was make me drink an hour longer, in the bush we don't really need it, the city said they did need it and they had the control of the outcome, I think the end result was 54% against and 46% for, City was almost 50/50 so a small percentage of the city vote would have done it, Southern WA has enough daylight and northern WA work to there own time, Broome schools for instance start an hour early and finish an hour early, but I'm not going back to that argument, it's gone for at least another 15 years

Daylight saving was a real pain when my kids were little, but that's no longer a problem as my youngest is nearly 16. I just wish it only went for summer instead of starting early spring and not finishing well into autumn. Also we really should be on SA time as we already have nearly an extra hour of daylight in the evening compared to those on the east coast. A relative from the NSW coast used to ring me in the evening and wonder why I took so long to answer. When I said I was outside in the garden, she would say "but it's dark now", but we would still have about an hour till dark.

I dont think we really need DLS because its light enough in summer anyway but it must be annoying for businesses. 2 hrs behind Sydney would be bad enough but when they are 3hrs ahead of us they would be knocking off work and we are still early arvo. Maybe office workers start earlier over here to accomodate for the time change ??
I dont know about that cos Im a shift worker.

DLS is a pain dealing with the east sometimes, but I will gladly put up with that, when DLS was on it was getting dark down here about 9pm and I was feeling jet lagged everyday, can't imagine why Tassie has it when they get 15.5 hours a day of daylight

I thought it was supposed to make the colour of the cows fade :D

While I'm here, wow, you guys have been busy. I haven't been online much in the last week or so and suddenly theres threads I haven't seen before and they're 3 pages long

Just adding to the comments on the first couple of pages - yep, the weather here in the southern half of WA was cruel over Sat and Sun. Sweat sweat sweat.... even when I wasn't doing anything.

Thats crazy. Not one post for Saturday and such a beaut day to be in the garden. (Perth anyway) There has to be a few shift workers out there, surely. And now it is Sunday and still a beaut morning even though it is pitch black. Any one out there just up for general garden chit chat?

I'm still about Seamonkey, just haven't been able to get on-line much during the school holidays.....have a daughter that hogs the computer.
I have been getting lots of gardening jobs done though as the weather has been great. Have had some good rain which has been wonderful.
I am going back to studying :learn: , 3 days a week at TAFE, and working 4 days a week, for the rest of the year, so trying to catch up on things that need to be done. Hope that I'll still find some time to get on-line

Yeah I can just see the sky from my desk...

Faye should have had a nice day today, she was talking at garden week. Anyone going to garden week this year?

You need to take your desk outside, EB. Get a laptop and hide yourself in that lovely yard.
You had a busy day at the shop? Too many people at garden week. I stay away from the maddness.

If I was to go out side then I would have to deal with customers. That's why I am in the office rather than outside, I have a shop/sales manner a little like you see in Black Books :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZUUM2rUX2U . A few people through today, not much in the way of sales but a few new people who are pretty excited... They have been quite spread out through the day, I only had to get up once to serve someone.

I can relate to that! Never seen Black Books before but what a hoot. A good day is only dealing with one customer. Not so good for sales but good for the head. Best type of retail would be selling online and not having to see your customer.!!
