Definitely dragon fruit going in this year - I've been saying it for months now, but I still believe it

You could probably grow things like Vanilla up your way Dave, now there's something I've always wanted to grow...

I have a vanilla orchid going,Im a little not wet and tropical enough.
They look green and healthy during the wet season then get daggy and yellow looking during the dry.
So its struggling but still alive after 2 years.
Bought 2, 1 died.

As for Dragon fruit,my dad has a few growing in Melbourne, but he has never had fruit,he has had flowers.Maybe its too cold for the pollinator??
I don't mind the taste and the look is pretty good ,the plant is ugly but.
I heard if you eat a few make sure your near a loo. :run:

Heres a close up of a leaf gnash, not the best for ID but ok, they are 3 sided [pic only shows 2,] and those little spikes are horrendous

If anyone has a section of plant they could spare I'd be willing to come grab it next I'm going to perth etc
