Saw all the tyres and thought you were running drills. :D

With the wide space between the rows, do you irrigate or just mulch heavily.

Each tyre will have it's own small drip line Duff (last tyre pic shows some of them) the main line is buried, the reason for the spacing is for when the plants grow I can still get to them (hopefully) without breaking or treading on them.

Today was a big day.
I was on a mission since 06:00hh, managed to finish "Bum-Nut castle" including the self watering trough (float valve), laying box's and roost, filled the rest of the tyres in the main veggie garden with compost and horse manure, even managed to plant out the cherry tom's (golden pear & red grape).
I Rotary hoed the garden below the big veggie garden near the olive trees I found last weekend  and placed the tyres down for the rock melon, water melon and green melon I have sprouting in my little hothouse. I even had time to take the rubbish to the tip :thumb: .....but lets face it, the only reason I had time to do all this is because I told the cook NRL sucks and the NRL GF was on today and I was kicked outta the house

The spacings are mulched and the corn has just been planted in them so by the time the broadbeans etc are done the corn will be rising :joy:

 Great work there mate, obviously water is not an issue at your place.

I have my nesting boxes set up higher than the roosts like you and have found them to be a problem as the chooks will always try to roost in the highest place, which is the nesting box, as a result the nests are always full of excrement and require frequent cleaning.

If it if not too late I would recommend removing the nest boxes from the roost and put them on the ground, rebuild the roost so there is a perch high at the top. Once the Chooks are in the habit of using the top perch to roost they will always use it and you can reattach the nest boxes below the top perch so they are only used to deposit cackleberries and not bowel offerings.
