On the road today at 6am to get me another load of sheep poo, got back at around 8am and started in on the long garden, building my new compost area and more tyres for potatos, I'm kinda guessing the spuds won't do well with the heat thats coming but hey, what could it hurt

The squash I first planted is starting to fruit and the cherry toms are booming along.
Spread more manure in the yard garden, getting ready to go mad with carrots in there as we always are eating them.
The Girls are finally starting to get a shine to the feathers they still have and new ones are finally coming through, they get all the scraps from the kitchen at the pub where the GF works as the Kitchen manager and it's amazing how much they will actually get through.
I also feed them cracked grain, lupins etc.

Great looking setup Gnash - just finished going through your thread as I've had a bit of an absence form the forum.

Mate, sorry to hear about Grunt !

Bloody beautiful Nash...... Have you found a use for Swedes yet? I grew a huge crop one year but ended up just chucking the lot into the chooks.

After roasting beetroots I'd do the same for swedes.

Was bored Sunday after posting and felt like playing in the shed.....so the Seedmaster VST-6 was born. (VST = Very Special Thing)
The slid on the side marks my row edges and the pointer out front lines up with that mark so you know where to start the next batch of seeds
Just finished in time for the GF's dad to turn up (was GF's B'day) and plant out one row of the long garden.
After that it all went pear shaped, a block of Vomit Bombs plus most of a square bear got demolished  ....oh well dinner was beautiful, roast beef and all my veggies, it was done in the weber which is still one of my fave toys.

The cover over the sleeper garden was put on last night as the sun is starting to wilt everything and this morning we had a little visitor courtesy of the cat :dont: but we saved it and sent him on his merry way :thumb:

Tonight I fried up onion and grated swede and added it to the mashed spud...not bad really...might make it a personal mission to find swede recipes

He he, your still young enough to have a girlfriend who thinks good blokes like all us on here are a dime a dozen. Give her another 15 or so years and she will realise that having you go out and garden on her BD is a small price to pay :thumb:
