we call that type of squash "patty pan" green, white, and golden squash. you might find that one got to big for good eats.

I like to make rustic installation art/furniture for the garden around the house as points of interest, this one is an iron and jarrah suspended table or bench made form recycled materials of course. Don't be fooled by using the dog for scale he is a big dog, table top is 1200mm diameter and weighs a tonne.

I thought you made a garden swing for the dog Simo, he seems to be enjoying it!

I built two none raised wicking beds yesterday and though I would share the process as they are dead easy.

Step one dig level trench with enough wall height for a resivour and growing medium, mine are about 600mm I think.

Line with plastic ensuring that the height of the liner on at least one edge stops at the top of the desired resivour height so exess water can seep out through the soil and not water log the garden.

These beds will be for winter crops and mostly rely on rain water.

Is it too late to ask if you put a couple lengths of PVC(90mm ish) before you filled with soil. Only asking cos I've been thinking of how soil can get water logged and it would be good to have a way to pump the water out if needed. Also a good point to water from.

No pipe in this one Duff, because it is only going to be watered from the rain so the plastic liner is just a way to retain the soil moisture for a little longer, might regret not putting it in but it can easily be retro fitted.

Nah, he is too stubborn to give up  , probably chase them all the way to Gnash's place. I trained him to ignore roos, horses, sheep and cows because he will chase down anything that runs and I don't want to lose him :sad2:
