Aaah the great life! Just been and fed my beautiful trout, and the silver perch as well. Love my babies, they are soo cute and make little, little splashes, they do't eat much yet though.
Went looking for eggs, the girls are still a little young and the mornings are cold. Those kool ducks have got character, with their bum wiggles, waddles and motoring beaks after you empty the water and they vacuum it up sifting for bugs. A joy to watch.
When I went out to look this morning I was blown away at the difference that fifty dollars worth of bird netting can make, it lkooks absolutely awesome, it was one of those hand on my heart moments that takes your breath away. (Oh, maybe you all don't think quite like me, but wow, it made my day, as I was away when Eddy put it up.)

A pleasure to share our garden with you guys, planning a Jamie Oliver rabbit stew in the very near future, thanks to the pleasant Peasants. :thumb:

Well we got another little, little bit done today, another $50-00 and topped the highest bed with a ute load of mushroom compost, still contemplating the wicking beds. Must sort the retic in that area out soon. Need to plant potatoes, garlic, broad beans soon. Boy o boy, between the new trout and the cute to watch ducks it is a little hard to get motivated. I did however make some "to die for" strawberry pancakes today, they looked delicious and the photos are mouth watering. :wow:

I am really pleased with the growth of the squash at this time of the year. Looking this morning and found a different type of beetle/ bug?

Thanks Mike, it will always be a a work in progress. The weeds are loving the weather, but the ducks and chickens are loving the weeds. Slaters love mushroom compost. Why don't willie wagtails like slaters as much as meal worms I wonder, perhaps they want to be hand fed :sad2:

I am sure this rabbit palace will be able to tell some stories in the days to come :thumb: Then perhaps we can trun it in to a nursery :thumb:

Let me know when you find an answer to the slaters, they demolished a whole punnet of broccoli that I put in two weeks ago :anger: .

This little squash did not waste any time adding to its size in just a few days. It tasted beautiful and sweet. There is a few more where that came from too.

I know it isn't part of the garden, but it is part of the renovation and we have a new shower screen woohoo :thunbs: There was a delay due to the mega quotes that came in, anyhow we shopped around and got this installed yesterday. Still got to change cupboard doors, basin and maybe get a new mirror. But what an improvement on those old tiles, I know some of you like them :sad2:
