The back garden, cleaned up after five weeks of absence.
Trying to squeeze as much in the available space as possible.

Harvested 37 kg of Jerusalem artichokes from two beds and it took me three whole days to clean them.
My DW wasn’t interested in any of them, wander why :ohdear: , but I put them to a good use.
Replanted the selected best into a single new bed behind the dog’s kennel.

Also kept a small bed of yacon over the years, didn’t want to loose the seed.
Harvested 12 kg, some were eaten and the rest is bubbling in the smaller keg,
together with some rhubarb I kept in the freezer.
That small bottle have a pure yacon. Just a try, hopefully a good one.

Like the chokes, I have replanted yacon strait away but into a two bigger beds now.
Being above ground I had no problem with them rotting.

Garlic and shallots are going fine.
In the three Blue Barrel halves is rhubarb and in the big pot is horseradish
that I have to find a space for.
And behind the compost bin is a bed of oca to be harvested when ready.

I tried reading back to find out but couldn't find much.

You’ll have to go to Jerusalem Artichokes thread and one of the “wine’ links to get the idea.

Have another two kegs outside the back door with a “Second Run” brew destined for a “aqua vitae” treatment.

Had a taste when doing a second rake today, not bad, will be quite strong.
It’s still bubbling slowly so will have to wait before bottling.

Already have a tom in flower, outside, don’t know what it is, popped up in a Laurel (bay leave) bush pot in late autumn and went into flower strait away.
It’s against a North facing wall where I cannot grow anything during the warm season because it gets all scorched.
I nipped the flower off, transplanted it and it survived winter and it’s flowering again.

Also the shahtoots are flowering, pruned heavily the white one, was getting to big.
The dwarf black one is still in a pot, don’t know where to put it.
It’s too messy so front yard is a no no.

Still not ready to bottle the wine but finished extracting that healthgiving “Aqua vitae”
from the chokes second run.
