Both girls -we think-haven't actually picked them up yet to check properly.

They look like bookends to us!!! The one on the right is the second born so still hasn't quite 'fluffed' up yet.

Nice work... congratulations... :D

So are you going to build the flock or is it food production?

We do breed them for food, but we are also building up a small flock of Wiltipols like their dad (polled Wiltshires). Their mums have horns, and they do tangle in the fences now and then (though they are useful handles!!). Our last ewe lambs were polled so we kept them, and will do the same with these girls if they are also polled. Then our entire flock will be polled....less fence repairs! :)

Faye, I have a sneaking suspicion that a lamb will make its way into your menagerie  :thunbs:

freshly picked veggies and trout for dinner....

This was the first trout of the season, the biggest was 430 grams!

Here is a photo of the ram, now known as 'Toots' (short for 220, his tag number) starting to shed already...it looks pretty messy for a while, but the birds pick up the wool and use if for their nests. We are still waiting for the next ewe to lamb, and she won't be long by the look of her. The other lambs are doing well.

We have the same unusually shaped radishes... Healthy looking feast, any idea how big the trout were?

Out of that five-all caught with one scoop of the net, the two biggest were 430 and 400 grams.....didn't weigh the smaller ones. We are quite happy with that! We pan fried one of the small ones each for dinner, along with the veggies (and oddly shaped radishes!!).
