Miniature Pigs

Well I just received a response to an email that I sent enquiring about miniature pigs, I must say I do not have a lot of confidence after receiving this email

they are all checked and vaccinated,and have all health records

is to give them out to a home or family that is able to spoil them
with the love and care that they deserve,so all i need of you is to
assure me you will take good care of them because i don't want to give
you my pigs out and
discover they are not handled with care.

My main purpose of giving this pigs out for adoption is due to
the fact that i lost my parents last month so i am now responsible for
the family estates and this has led to an increase in my working hours
now i work 16 hours per day and work from Monday to Saturday and on
Sundays i go to church. so you see i have less time to take care of them
so i decided to give them out to someone out there that can take great
care of them and love them like his/her own children .So you just need
to assure me you will take good care of my pigs.I will love to know
this from you,

Are you married?
Do you have kids?
Have you adopted a pig before?
what makes you wiling to adopt my pigs?
where are you located?
i am asking all this just to be sure my pigs will be taking very good
care of my babies

As an after thought re mini pigs, read recently the Vietnamese miniture pigs that are popular in the US are illegal to have in Oz......

Aren't all pigs miniature, until they are eating size.

That is disappointing for you Faye but I'm really not surprised at the attitude.

You find a very similar mind-set in miniature goat breeders. A mere question about dressing out percentages of their stock is enough to produce a fit of the vapors.
Honestly, this miniature livestock craze attracts the oddest people.

I gather you'd treat miniature livestock as well...livestock. Basically protein on the hoof.

I've adopted some miniature "pets" only to later eat them... I really didn't intend to eat the goat, was just using him to mow the lawn. He was such a PITA though, kept jumping the fence. I finally got fed up and asked him to join me for dinner.

Edit: just read the prices, they are also pretty freakin expensive! :shock:

I have just heard that a litter of piglets were born 2 days ago. I have a couple of questions, how long before they open their eyes, and how long before they stand up? The ones that I saw at the Royal show were all laying down suckling, a bit like rabbits.

Pigs are born with their eyes open and stagger to their feet almost immediately.
When they are suckling they close their eyes when young....... even go sleep there.
