Not sure. But corn is planted close due to the pollen falling down to the cobs. If the plants didn't produce a lot of pollen due to something lacking in the soil it would of only effected the plants in that area. If it happens on the next crop maybe manually pollinate half of the yellow plants and see.

What was growing in that area before you started using it as a garden. a few trees could of dropped something into the soil that effects other plants.

Nothing that I know of Duff, it was a bare patch when I got here 2 yrs ago....I did however discover a huge pool filter on the other side of the shed wall :inspect: and a newish piece of tin near it (on the wall) maybe there was a pool there before and there is chlorine in the dirt :dunno:

Yesterdays work, I've started using the bar for processing veggies as its easier then cleaning the kitchen, the gas weber can handle 3 large pots to blanch with plus I can roast some corn.
I mixed garlic, butter and herbs to lather on the corn, pull the outer covering back up, tie and dip in water then straight on the flame  it was rather yummy :thumb:
The pumpkins were supposed to be golden nuggets but look different to the two on the left :dunno: either way they taste good and one fits on the plate well.

Back when I was a stay at home mum, I used to make individual pumpkin soups for afternoon tea when the children came home from school, aaah that seems like a life time ago. They were yummy and the children still remember those little things.

Or you could do individual roast pumpkins, like they do with spud... different stuffings in each.
