Snags the story started at the beginning of this thread, 12 weeks to first egg, wasteful with their food, found it really difficult for us to tell the difference between male and female. They required a great dal of effort compared to larger animals - the way that we did it anyway. Never really had the desire to eat them or their eggs either :sad2: Tried it, been there done that I guess. I want rabbits again and more chickens -less work, really good returns.

I was interested in eating them and their eggs so was wondering why it didnt work
If you where interested in that would it have been worthwhile?
I hear quails breed like rabbits and grow quick and lay eggs quick too.
Also great in shade house /glass houses as bug control.
I would find it easier to kill and eat a quail than ring a bunnies neck ,though I do love rabbit.
