Thanks gazza, I find in my garden they don't start tasting sweet untill they get really big, I have since found out they need potassium from wood ash to sweeten them up. Despite their size they were not woody at all.

Thanks, the tomatoes in the aquaponics sytem never seem to know they aren't supposed to fruit in winter, my theory is that the large body of circulating water prevents the roots from getting too cold over night so they just keep fruiting. Also we don't get frost as we are on top of a hill.

That looks awesome Gazza. Top class cuisine, you can't ever seem to buy anything that good and healthy. I am often disappointed when I buy food and find it is flavourless. My pet hate is that you get served brown lettuce, have the servers not got eyes that can pick it out or trim it off.

It's a great feeling growing your own backyard produce, and doing it better and fresher than the shops and restaurants!

Stop it, you're making my mouth water Simo. Looks great. How did you get on with the fires?

Actually Faye that's Gazza making both of our mouths water.

The Shady Hills fire was a few Km from my house and thankfully the wind was not blowing it towards me, but from on top of my hill I could tell it was right on top of my mates place so I hooked up my fire unit and headed over to defend his place as he was at work and road closures meant he couldn't get back to defend it him self.

Fire got to with in 30m of his house but it was pature so only as a grass fire and two of the many Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade units fighting the fire (I believe they were from Kalamunda) wizzed in and put it out in less than 2 min and zoomed off again. My hats off to them and to DFES, there must have been close to 30 light tankers, heavy tankers, helicopters and planes fighting that fire That I could see and no homes were lost they do a great job and we are lucky to have them.

After they left a mate and I drove around the property putting out the burning tree bases and hot spots to prevent another flare up or ember attack.
