Yea, couple of minutes online. I think its about $30-$40. You can print off a copy of the transaction which covers you till the licence arrives.

Well the farm is lovely and green and vegies in wicking bed have not produced much yet. Spent the day siliconing my IBC watertank( keep your eyes off it, Aquaponicists) Setting up new generator as old one has petrol leak. Also set up handheld auger for tomorrow's fence posting.

Dont worry fellas,i am back safely in suburbia. Spent about 2 hours trying to start the thing. Grrr!! Im looking for blonde roots thinking that may be the problem but no, definately a red head !! Yeh Simo it was a two woman job just holding the auger up and bracing for the start up that never happened. I used correct fuel and 25:1 mix turned ignition on ,closed choke for cold start. The manual says nothing about putting oil in but does mention changing it after 50 hrs. I am assuming it has oil already in it!! Call to Mc Cullochs I think

Not sure what extra oil is required as in a 2 stroke engine the oil is generally mixed in the fuel. They can be really specific in the starting sequence, I find most chainsaws, demo saws etc (particularly sthil ones) with a 2 stage choke you: Depress decompression button ( if it has one)
set full (cold) choke
pull starter several times until you get a 'cough' from the machine like it wants to start.
set choke to half (warm)
and another couple of pulls should get it going.

any deviation from this will result in a sore arm and new and interesting swear words.

That said, every motor is different so I hope you have better luck tomorrow.

Thanks Gaz, I have a Stihl chainsaw so familiar with start up .I used the stihl oil to mix 25:1 mix for fuel It is an air cooled oil that is required (same as Stihl) It bothers me that it says nothing in manual about putting oil in engine to begin which makes me think it has been put in at factory. It says in manual to change engine oil after 50hrs. Usually manuals tell you if no oil has been added by factory And dont worry, Lower Hotham has been introduced to a whole new language!! And ignition was turned on, and off and on and off just incase it had been labelled incorrectly My Stihl is a 50:1 mix so made sure I did 25:1 with Auger

Did you buy it? Most motors can't be legally shipped with oil in them (or perhaps a certain amount of oil) this is certainly the case with lawn mowers and the like.

Yep bought from Masters. Every other machine I have bought always says that it has got oil in it or has not been shipped with oil so i am thinking now maybe it may not have oil in it but says nothing in start up manual about oil ,only in maintenance after 50 hrs. I will have to ring them to find out. I cant find anything in google apart from the fact that it is easy starting

Maybe it is just a case of squinting your left eye, poking your tongue out at the right angle and talking to it nicely?

Tried that too, then the aggressive red head came out in me and it turned nasty. Might take it to work tomorrow and see if the non aggressive blokes can sort it out

Could it be gear oil in a box between the motor and the auger rather than motor oil they are talking about?

Hey Burnsy, there is no mention of any oil to be put into the blasted thing. Only oil to put in for the fuel mix. It mentions to put a spoonful of oil into spark plug when storing for a long time and only changing oil in carburettor after 50 hrs of use but doesnt say if it has oil in it after factory finish. Most products will say that oil has not been put in before shipping but this doesnt. It is an MP49 mc Culloch earth auger

Looking at the specs they are not direct drive but have a 35:1 ratio gearbox which means they will have gear oil in them. Look at the top of the auger between it and the engine there will likely be an oil bung for the box, probably a bolt head style rather than a finger screw one on a lawnmower.
