May not be able to move bags of soil around... but you can certainly still cook. How did you prep the stinging nettle for this dish?

Hey Mr Bill I just blanched it until it went limp and then when it cooled squeezed out the water. I believe the water/ juice is good as a deterrent to aphids, ants and flies also a fungicude and general plant tonic, how cool eh!

Work has finally commenced on clearing out the new, coming soon "womens shed". Place to preserve, craft, drink wine and chat. Finding soo many treasures from days of old like tools and pots, gas lamps and heaps more. Photos will come when things are more orderly and the to do list just keeps on growing.

Chinese veges are doing ok and if they look like they want to flower I nip the centre out and snack on it.
I had thought the asparagus had gone dormant or died, low and behold we have some new thickerer spears and the system has been running constantly flooded.

Haha funny you should say that Sue. I have unearthed many treasures amongst it is a home brew kit and instructions. I would not know where to start so perhaps a trip to a brew shop will be on the to do list.

Off to a pruning workshop this afternoon in a bid to get more 0roduction from my fruit trees. We have more than 30 fruit producers here which is more akin to a museum than an orchard lol.
Almond
Apple
Apricot
Avocado
Banana
Loquat
Plum
Grapefruit
Passionfruit
Fig
Mulberry
Oranges
Lemons
Mandarins
Peach
Grape
Irish strawberry
Macadamia

Does anyone have suggestions for any favourites that do particularly well?

Merry, merry king of the bush is he
Laugh kookaburra, laugh
Gay his life must be

We travel to visit family in NSW every year and the beach house we stay at has 2 Kookaburras that nest near by. We have been feeding them bits of meat and polony for as long as I can remember. For some time now they will stay still to be hand fed and quite like a little scratch on the neck. Beautiful creatures. I was told they choose one partner for life, is that true?
