Here is my JD LA125

Image

I did alot of research before buying it and in my opinion I came out of it with the best mower available - I had a look at

John Deere - Best Service and Value for Money
Husqvarna - Similar to the JD Model I was looking at as in bells and whistles but the build quality wasnt as good for close to 1k more
Kubota - Apparently great but expensive.
MTD - Wasnt going there after looking at the CUB models
Cox - Raved about for durability but wasnt paying close to 6k for a 36" Deck

That is what we have here locally

I paid $4800 and I got the LA125, the optional Bar on the front and the P10 Tilt Trailer. :thunbs:

The trailer is awesome for putting sticks in as I go, I also hook it up to the Quad to do other work.

All in all, I love my JD,
I love mowing now (before I was mowing 5 acres with a push mower  ) I can highly recommend the John Deere.

I have a really expensive green and yellow ride on mower for my paddock, on consideration I probably should have got a John Deer though. :P

Hey Big Dave they will all think you're on my payroll  but just checking you got a reasonable price, freight to NT is a killer but I would have done it cheaper  LA125 also comes with cruise control from memory, have NFI why you need cruise with a hydrostatic transmission :dunno: maybe less concentration needed whilst accessing the fluid in the drink holder, but the 10p cart is a good thing also very handy toy, call nocky 0437......
Very clever simo, less crap comes out the back of the JD though

Yeah mate, it does come with Cruise Control, although I never use it. And it has 2 Drink Holders, how cool is that, so the Missus can do less trips to the beer fridge to keep me well hydrated because I can have 2 cans on the go at once! Although I could probably chuck the esky in the trailer instead - keep me going all day!

One question - Why do Ride On's have headlights? And honestly - who mows their lawn at night?? :dunno:

Depends on who lives next door. Nothing better than mowing the lawn at 4am after the neighbours are asleep after a loud party.

So you can see when your driving it home from the pub :thunbs:
But the nerdy answer is a lot of shire councils buy them and are a requirement for 1, and JD ones are designed in the US and it is a law most places over there as well

Now THAT is a feature :thumb: tempted to get one, and I don't even have any real lawn !

Makes more sense than my Subaru - the car seats 5 people, yet for some reason has 7 cup holders

Ive been looking around for a second hand zero turn mower for the last couple of weeks. One thing Ive noticed is they really hold their value.

So far Im liking the look of the husky range but Im still trying to get my head around what might be best for my yard. Ive got some wide open areas where a larger blade would be good but then I also have a lot of intricate garden areas that I need to manouver through.

This is what Im talking about... any recommendations?

Hi Simo,

Been looking for a change for a few years now and Mrs Charlie has been pushing me to get back over near her home town (Lismore, NSW) so we are finally taking the plunge.

We wanted a bit of land that we can use for some animals and big vegie gardens etc. Stuff Ive never had in my life in the goldfields and northern NSW is a really cool place. Nice and green and lush. Great beaches and fishing etc We go there every year on holidays and I really like it there.

Basically a life style change. Im done with the red dirt and gum trees lol

This place is close to Byron Bay, bought it last week and just waiting for settlement. Looking at moving over in about 6 months.
